Zante's is the serendipitous result when you cross an old school neighborhood pizzeria with Indian food. Where else can you get tandoori chicken, spinach, lamb, fresh ginger and garlic on a pie and wash it down with a mango lassi?
The Spring founder Brent recommends the Vegetarian Indian Pizza with its flavorful cauliflower/eggplant/garlic combo. In fact, Brent invited Zante's to join The Spring primarily in the hopes that he could gain the trust of the chefs and get access to the recipe to finally learn how they make the crust so good. So far they won't divulge their secrets.
Yelper Malcolm M. is also a believer, “Oh, Zante. The Indian Meat pizza with everything on it is incomparable to almost any other thing in life. The only thing better? The Indian Meat pizza with everything, plus pepperoni and jalapeños.”
Zante’s owner Tony has a history of supporting nearby Fairmount elementary school, local public radio station KALW and the Asian Women Artists Association. He joined The Spring because the local community has given him so much support in the 28 years he’s been in business that he's always looking for ways to give back.
